Sorta reminds me of this nineties classic:

Which car is this? I'm not familiar with those switches.

It's a Ford Puma. Pretty awesome little cars.

Ford Puma, though pretty much all the switches were shared with the Mk 5 Fiesta:

Young drivers across the UK have been getting familiar with those heater controls for almost two decades.

Oh I've read about those. Wish we got them over here in the States.

I can't read cursive for the life of me so thanks, lol.

I couldn't read it, either. I just happened to recognize the logo for some strange reason (I've never seen a Puma in the flesh).

Well that's something I didn't know. Only 1,000 Racing Pumas made and only for the U.K.

Yup, it's pretty crazy—before I saw this video, I'd been wondering why they were so hard to find. I suppose the way pretty much every classified ad makes a point of listing the car's production number - no. 79 and so on - should've tipped me off.

By the way, Tiff's conclusion that the Racing Puma just wasn't worth the money has proven more than a little off-base with hindsight. They've held their value amazingly well, and are only appreciating.

Yeah, it's a real shame. At least you guys get the Fiesta now; if Ford ever make another Puma, you already having the car it's based on should substantially up the likelihood of them offering it in the US.

I'm thinking of getting a Fiesta Zetec S - essentially the Puma with a hatchback body, and the car Vicky's road testing in the Fiesta video - as my next car. They're great little warm hatches—perfect for anyone looking for fun on a budget in the UK.

my first car :)

I made a little hat for the gearstick in winter, it got very cold...

When I first saw a Puma gear knob, the first thing to pop into my head was, 'I bet that's uncomfortable in winter.' The second was, 'Ooh, and probably kinda painful on hot days.'

Still looks cool, though. ;-)

(Just as an aside: you had a Puma as your first car? Lucky! There's no way I could've insured one as my first—even the 1.4. I'm very happy with what I ended up with - 106 1.1, which is way more fun than it sounds - but there aren't many teenagers in the UK today who can say they had a sporty coupé as their first car!)

There's a few dotting about I've seen. There is a couple of guys on a forum I'm on doing a restoration on them.

One from a detailing meet in Kent the other year.

Nice pictures. I imagine their biggest problem, like any Puma, is the rust.

*Peers at GT interior shot* Ah, so that's where the gear knob went! Puma -> SportKa -> GT. I wonder where it'll pop up next?

Thanks there was some Ferraris (Enzo, 360 430 and couple of others), Aston Martins mostly DB9s, Ford Mustangs, Focus RS, TVR Tamora and Tuscan and Griffith, etc...

By all accounts not that much rust really due to plenty of underseal.

Here's two restorations.

The first is a full restoration and the second is just an underbody restoration.

Sounds like a good time. I'm rather ashamed to admit that I'd probably have been more interested in the RS and the TVRs than the Enzo...

Me to. The Enzo was too loud and in your face. It was ridiculous.
